RAB'S MOSTLY PHILOSOPHICAL PINBALL REPAIR JOURNAL

RAB'S MOSTLY PHILOSOPHICAL PINBALL REPAIR JOURNAL

About 10 years ago I began to document the somewhat privileged experience of total strangers letting me into their homes on the somewhat frivolous pretext of fixing their pinball machines. This has allowed me to see lots & lots of homes from obscenely luxurious to pitifully slothful, plus all the wide ordinary lives in between. That in itself remains an exceptional spectrum to navigate let alone the wide variety of repair challenges. Yet, the common factor tying all these human stories together remains a pinball machine. Adding to these repair episodes is the willingness that most of my clients displayed in sharing with me how these machines came into their lives. I consider myself blessed to listen to these youthful narratives which have become another reason as to why I keep doing this type of work. So I will take you with me into these people's homes and also provide a philosophical glimpse into the way they see their lives.

I have changed the names and locations of the clients, but the machine title remains true to the encounter for the sake of the technical information. Yes, people and pinball, and ofcourse the fascinating relationship between them is the real topic of these episodes as far as I am concerned.
